Siemens Motox Geared Motor

Our extensive range of Siemens geared motors ensures that you will find the optimal product for your needs. With the new SIMOGEAR you will benefit especially from its ability to deliver the highest level of flexibility due to our wide range of gear units, total adaptability and compact design. We also supply servo-geared motors for Motion Control applications.

The new SIMOGEAR Siemens geared motors deliver performance from 0.09 kW up to 55 kW. It can achieve a gear unit torque up to 8.000 Nm with helical, parallel shaft, helical bevel and worm geared gear units, additional types and sizes will follow. Due to accordance to the current measures, SIMOGEAR is compatible to many other suppliers of gear motors.

With MOTOX, Siemens provides the complete range of geared motors. Our portfolio comprises all commonly used types of gear units and are suitable for many drive applications. Together, the MOTOX family offers a whole world of geared motor options that definitely has the answer to your specific requirements.

The SIMOTICS S-1FG1 servo geared motors are compact geared motors. Compared to standard Siemens geared motors with induction machines, they have smaller dimensions, weigh less and have a higher dynamic response.

The range of types covers helical, parallel shaft, bevel and helical worm geared motors in the usual frame sizes and speed/torque classes. The SIMOTICS S-1FG1 servo geared motors use the same operating heads as the SIMOGEAR geared motors.

Flexible servo drive system for demanding applications. Siemens has expanded its drive portfolio for servo applications to include the SIMOTICS S-1FG1 servo geared motor that is optimally harmonized with the SINAMICS S120 inverter system.

Siemens is integrating its geared motors and motion control divisions more closely in the UK, and has promoted Julie Ferguson to be the new manager of its geared motors business with the aim of doubling the business within three years.

The Siemens Drive Technologies Division is supplementing its Motox geared motors with a new range of worm gears; they are particularly suitable for conveyor systems (Fig.). The single-stage worm geared motor of the S range is available in the three frame sizes S08, S18 and S28, in a torque range from 18 to 80 Nm and in a power range from 0.12 to 0.75 kW (4-pole). Installation can take the shaft-mounted, foot-mounted or flange-mounted form. The input shaft is available either solid or hollow. The use of high-grade materials allows high rated gear torques up to 80 Nm and high transmission ratios of up to 100 in a single stage. The worm shafts are case-hardened and ground, which makes running quieter. A strong radial force is achieved by high-grade roller bearings and greater distances between bearings. The tooth root security of the Cavex concave-profile teeth allows high load peaks. The gears are maintenance-free due to lubrication-for-life with synthetic oil, as well as high-grade bearings and seals.

Helical geared motors are the conventional solution for your drive application. Helical gear units are coaxial units where the Siemens gear unit output shaft is in-line with the Siemens motor shaft. A solid shaft is always used as output shaft.

Parallel shaft Siemens gear motors are the modern version of coaxial geared motors. As a result of their compact and short design, they take up less space than helical geared motors. Parallel shaft geared motors can either have a solid shaft - or alternatively a hollow shaft as so-called plug-on gear unit.

Helical worm geared motors are the favorably-priced solution for drives with angular geared motors. The efficiency is significantly better than that of pure worm geared motors due to the implementation as helical-worm geared motors.

Helical bevel Siemens gear motors are angular geared motors where the Siemens gear unit output shaft is rotated through 90 to the motor shaft. Helical bevel geared units can either have a solid or a hollow shaft.

The SIMOGEAR geared motor delivers performance from 0.09 kW up to 55 kW. It can achieve a gear unit torque up to 19 500 Nm with the helical, parallel shaft, bevel, helical worm, and worm geared motors. Due to the current measures, SIMOGEAR is compatible with many other geared motors suppliers.

The extensive range of geared motors ensures that you will find the optimal product for your needs. With the new SIMOGEAR, you will benefit especially from its ability to deliver the highest level of flexibility due to the wide range of gear units, total adaptability, and compact design.

The Simogear family includes geared motors in various designs such as helical, parallel shaft, bevel helical and worm gear units with outputs ranging from 0.09 kW to 200 kW and with output torques up to 50,000 Nm. By offering additional frame sizes, Siemens can now supply a complete portfolio of geared motor designs. With their high gear ratios in the two- and three-stage ranges, finer torque grading, high power density and outstanding efficiency, the new models are especially well-equipped to meet the requirements of modern conveyor systems. By virtue of its connection dimensions in conformity with market standards, the new motor range is completely compatible with existing installations.

The extensive range of servo geared motors includes a series designed especially for motion control applications. Among their distinguishing features are their excellent balance quality and compact design. Siemens proven 1FK7 and 1FT7 synchronous servomotors are also available as factory fitted motors with planetary gear units. The 1FK7 motors are additionally available with offset shaft and angle geared units in various specifications. For main motors they optionally offer switchgear units.

Siemens Mechanical Drives in South Africa has many examples of where it has supplied its units and couplings. On the geared motors side it can easily supply up to 1 000 units and more a month. This does not include the comprehensive service department that refurbishes both the motors and geared units. The Division employs 108 staff and 95 of these are located in the assembly, manufacturing and services departments. 2ff7e9595c
