I prefer Firefox to Safari for Mac and have used it for years. Downloaded new copy of Ver 5.0.1 using Safari as couldn't with Firefox would not.
When I tried to download the latest Firefox version, a message said that my operating system doesn't support the upgrade. But the information on download page says MAC OS X 10.5 or better is okay. My system is MAC OS X 10.5.6

If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading El Capitan. If you get told that it's incompatible with your computer, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Thanks for the quick response. I have a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, according to the Apple Menu. That means you're suggesting that I download Lion 10.7.? Do you think this will be compatible with my printer, scanner, etc? Also, what about my old browser that's giving me problems (version 5.0.6)? Will the browser automatically be updated with Lion 10.7?
The Evernote web clipper that is available on the Firefox addon web page (i.e. 5.0.0.204582) works with Firefox 8.0 but not 8.01. I downloaded Firefox 8.0 from -US/. After the download, you need to disconnect from the internet, install and open Firefox and then go to preferences/advanced/updates to turn off Firefox automatic updates (otherwise the browser automatically updates to Firefox 8.01). After connecting back to the internet, go to Firefox addons and install the Evernote web clipper. As far as I can tell everything works properly in Firefox 8.0. Hope that helps.
Strangely enough, on a different computer (different OS version altogether) with the same firefox version, it works: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10
To get started, we need to download the Zotero 5.0 Standalone Software. This will be downloaded to your computer's hard drive, where it can be accessed offline. The installation examples in this guide are for Windows operating system, Mac Operating system, Firefox browser and Chrome browser, but the process is similar across all platforms.
4. A window will pop-up asking you to name the file. Do not change the file name. Just click "Save" and the file will download to your default downloads folder.
3. "Open the .dmg you downloaded and drag Zotero to the Applications folder. You can then run Zotero from Spotlight, Launchpad, or the Applications folder and add it to your Dock like any other program" (from Zotero.org - Documentation - Installation).
The connector you download will be automatically matched to whatever browser you are using at the moment. In this guide you'll see a Firefox example, but Zotero's connector also works for Chrome and Safari. 2ff7e9595c
